Matt Laslo: “Has the cannabis caucus met yet?”
Ilhan Omar: “No.”
ML: “No? That's what [Cannabis Caucus Co-chair David] Joyce told me last month.”
IO: “But yeah, at the end of the month, I think there's the lobbying.”
ML: “Oh, their Hill crawl?”
IO: “Yeah.”
ML: “Are you — but it seems like you Democrats on the Cannabis Caucus have met or you guys have had some talks?”
IO: “Yeah, but not as a caucus.”
ML: “Yeah? Like, does that portend bad things to come?”
IO: “I don't know. I think it's just there's so many things people are chasing.”
ML: “Yeah? Fair.”
IO: ”Yeah.”
ML: “And do you — like, usually sometimes it gets addressed as an amendment to bigger bills? Doesn't even seem like you've really heard a ton of chatter about it?”
IO: “No, no, I mean, I haven't heard anything either.”
ML: “You guys haven't reached out to Joyce to ask for a meeting yet?”
IO: “I don't believe so.”
ML: “I can envision this whole Congress going, and Republicans never allowing any candidates' votes. Just doesn't seem like they want to talk about it.”
IO: “No? You've been asking?”
ML: “Yeah. They'll talk to me about shrooms now. Right? Progress.”
IO: “Good to see you.”
ML: “Have a good one, ma'am.”
