SCENE: Sen. Rand Paul’s walking through the US Capitol on his way to cast a vote on the Senate floor when Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo catches him for a quick update on his efforts to protect the US hemp industry.
Matt Laslo: “Hey sir, did we hear your hemp language prevailed?”
Rand Paul: “We’re hoping to fix it so they don’t kill the hemp industry, and we think they’re are gonna be some changesin the bill.”
ML: “When do you think you’ll find out?”
Paul turns his back on Laslo as he walks towards Senate floor, so he’s off mic.
RP: “Soon.”
ML: “‘Soon’? Thank you.”*
*When a lawmaker’s off mic, Laslo always repeats what he hears into his mic.
